Awesomeness once again. Love the Lilo & Stitch pic!
Thanks Joe! Btw - I recently signed up for a Tumblr account so I could follow you... just need to figure it all out now. I feel so old....
I'm with Joe on the Lilo and Stitch pic. Because its less than twenty years old and kind of flew under the radar, you don't see much fan art for it in this more lifelike style like you might see for some of Disney's more blockbuster titles.
You're right, Erik. It's strange because it was quite popular when it came out, bunch of spin offs and such. Guess it never held up as well as the rest.
Its actually one I've wanted to revisit because of director Chris Sander's recent success with How to Train Your Dragon. Its very distinct for its unique tropical (and contemporary) setting and for being one of the last watercolor films, but my strongest memory of the actual story is "quirky character scenes wrapped around an ET story". I guess that is something of a hard sell. I guess its not too surprising that Disney took Sanders off of "Bolt" because they thought his original story for the film was "too weird".
It was def unique - especially for Disney. I don't think my kids have ever seen it, maybe I should run it by them and see what they think. What's funny is, they know the characters, but never saw the film.
Leave a comment - No seriously... then I don't have to talk to myself.
